Maltodextrin is rapidly absorbed, providing fast, high-GI energy and promoting quick gastric emptying to aid digestion. Fructose is absorbed more slowly via GLUT5 transporters and processed in the liver to replenish glycogen stores, offering a gradual, sustained energy release for longer-lasting fuel during intense exercise.
